how much should a DUI case cost?

I am 24 years old, live in LA and I just got a my first DUI ticket last weekend. after consulting with a few Lawyers and friend who works in the law firm. I am more confused than ever about the procedures of a DUI case. Almost all the lawyers say the same, “without knowning your alcohal level, we dont know our chances of winning” but all of them want to charge me $3000 just to take the case and an additional $3000 to go to trial (if we need to). my paralegal friends tells me that the 1st $3000 is just to sucker me into hiring them. And they are not going to do anything but go to trial. Is it true? one thing i know is my ticket says its over 0.08%. Aside from that, how much does a DUI ticket cost? Traffic school, AA meetings, and SR 22 Insurance. and what else do i need to know?

I know a few people who have DUI’s and it cost them about $7,000 when it was all said and done. The lawyers do sucker people with DUI’s , but you have to pay that price to get out of it.
